Are You Really Free? Really?

This blog post was adopted from my friend, and fellow sign language interpreter Linda Hook.

Join me in welcoming our first guest blogger on this Indepence Day 2016.

INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

We celebrate the freedoms set forth in this country so many years ago ... while trying to be positive in remembering our beginnings.

But, I can't get this sick feeling out of the pit of my stomach about which direction America is going right now ...

And yet, I'm thanking My Lord, for reminding me further about the FREEDOM He has made available more than 2000 yrs ago, on the old rugged cross!

The Cross of Jesus freed me from any bondage that could ever be named on this earth ...

As a matter of fact, The Scripture tells us in John 8:36 "if the Son has made you free, you ARE free INDEED."

Thanks be to God for that unspeakable gift!

 I AM FREE!
And  I pray the same for all who read this ... if you are not free, step out and claim the gift of forgiveness and freedom that Jesus gave freely to you and I. And also note that true deliverance has been given as well, when He rose from the grave.

So, Happy Independence Day and Happy Freedom through Christ.

Thanks for stopping by!

What 2016 Grads Reminded Me

Most of what I really need
to know about how to live,
and what to do, and how to be,
I learned in kindergarten.

Wisdom was not at the top
 of the graduate school mountain,
but there in the sandpile at Sunday school.

These are the things I learned:

1. Share everything.

2. Play fair.

3. Don't hit people.

4. Put things back where you found them.

5. Clean up your own mess.

6. Don't take things that aren't yours.

7. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.

8. Wash your hands before you eat.

9. Flush.

10. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

11. Live a balanced life -
12. Learn some, and think some

13. And draw, and paint, and sing, and dance

14. And play, and work, everyday ... some.

15. Take a nap every afternoon.

16. When you go out into the world,
 watch out for traffic.
17. Hold hands and stick together.

18. Be aware of wonder.

Hello, My name is ...

Earline Blumhagen. I am a Speaker, Teacher, Trainer, Biblical Life Coach and a Signing Mom to 3 "grown and gone"  kids, 2 of which are Deaf.

I hail from Orlando, Florida, The City Beautiful, where my hubby Jon and I are passionate Servant Leaders. We have been entrusted with both a "for profit" family owned and operated business,
jabdesigns.com
and a "non profit" organization, GodsHandsAgency.com

As a Professional Inspirational Speaker, I specialize in utilizing lots of practical life humor to communicate the fact that "Your Mission Is Possible" in the areas of Deaf & Death. These 2 arenas break down to include:

1. Personal Development
2. Effective Parent / Family Involvement, and
3. Healthy Grieving

My mission is simply to
"Help You Be A Better You!"
I am fluent in ASL/American Sign Language and make myself available, so please contact us today if we can be of assistance.

In the interim, thank you for sharing the gift of your time.

We marched with a steady beat from 6am til 4pm, But God! He's so awesomely good that He even anointed our sidebar conversations so that one of our volunteers could make a decision for Him.

This Deaf DIVA ended up repenting from her sin and accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior, right there in the main registration tent. For really.

Needless to say, we are always grateful for the opportunity to be used of God here in the earth. And one of the beauties  of being used of God is the fact that we never know when, where or how He's gonna move, so we serve with a spirit of expectancy.

Today, Monday, March 28th 2016 , Jon and I are on our way to a parent involvement training in Rome. For really. But that would be Rome, Georgia. LOL.

As you might know,  we facilitate  monthly iMoM and All Pro Dad roundtables at MILLS' Child Development  Center for the parents of their students. We've done this for almost  4 consecutive years. So we'll be meeting with others that do the same all across the country for training and feedback opportunities.

You might be asking HOW are we able to provide all the services we provide?  Well, I'm glad you've asked, because it's simply through the generosity of our friends and partners in ministry that God meets the needs of others.

So,  please sir and please ma'am, would you prayerfully consider "springing forth" as a new partner with GHA ?  Or, perhaps you'll  consider making a one time "Friendship Gift" today.

Thank You in advance for  your thoughts towards us, as together we are God's Hands.

Also stay tuned for our 1st Quarter Blumhagen e-newsletter report coming soon. You're gonna be shocked at all we've accomplished so far this year.

But, for now, as my pastor would say, Go MAKE IT a GREAT DAY! And Thanks for stopping by.

Do What When With Who ???

This Blog Post was inspired by today's First 5 Devotional entitled "What Will You Do With Jesus?" I challenge you to download the FREE app and start spending / investing the First 5 minutes of your day in The Word.

Do What When  ...

I am the daughter of a Baptist preacher turned pastor. My father was an older man when he and momma had me (dad was born in 1919). Momma was 20 years younger than daddy, and yet it was momma who died when I was just 14 years young.

I didn't know what to do with my grief, my emotions, my anger, my questions, my disappointment with life ... and God knows, I didn't know what to do with Jesus thru all of this. He soon faded away.

I was saved. I was saved as a young girl, I remember my declaration of that spiritual transaction. I truly believed that Jesus was born of a virgin, He suffered under Pontus Pilate, He was unjustly condemned and was crucified on a cross. I believed that Jesus died on that cross for my sin and was buried in a borrowed tomb. And I also believed God raised Jesus from the dead just like He said He would. So I repented of my sin and made a conscious decision to follow Jesus Christ. I was baptized in a local lake, which was our custom, actually I was baptized more times than I can count, but that's another blog post. LOL And yet, as I grew older, I failed miserably at growing up in Jesus. I did not mature in my faith. My "seed" remained a starter seed. ... "Oh ye of little faith."

Somewhere along the way I decided that Jesus could be my Savior, but I would be the one who would sit on the throne of my heart while Jesus patiently waited in the background. He never left me you know.

Needless to say, as I searched for significance in all the wrong things, I started to live out a lifestyle of total rebellion. Daily, for many years, I grieved both The Holy Spirit and my daddy in ways I care not to recall. But God.

But I kept on searching and in 1993, I finally found The King of Kings was always there with me and for me. So, I invited Jesus to take His proper place in my life. This time I crowned Him Lord of Lords in my life.

But while in the midst of all my confusion God gave a song to one of His children that was recorded. When I'd go to church, which was often, as I still lived in daddy's house, daddy would always ask me to sing to sing this song. I wouldn't be happy about it, but I would oblige. Even in the midst of my personal storm, I'd sing.

I've often wondered why he always wanted to hear this particular song, until today, thru this devotion my long time question was finally answered. This song was a prayer song for my daddy, a prayer that he eagerly prayed  that I would someday pray for myself in the midst of all my confusion.

Well God answered daddy's prayer. I am not only praying this song prayer for me, but I am praying just like dad, that my children and their children will some day sing this same prayer song over their own lives, and the lives of their children.

And I pray this today in Jesus name, with a spirit of Thanksgiving.  Amen!

And now for the song/prayer.

Lyrics to "What Shall I Do"
By Tramaine Hawkins

What shall I do
What step should I take
What move should I make
Oh Lord, what shall I do

I'm going to wait
For an answer from You
I have nothing to lose
Oh Lord, I'm going to wait

I know You'll come through
With a blessing for me
Please Lord set my soul free
Oh Lord, I know you'll come through

I can't live without Your help
I am weak all by myself
Lord please give me the strength I need
So I can possess eternal peace

[Choir: repeats]

No one else can calm my fears
God alone can wipe away my tears
Glory to the mighty king
In Jesus Christ I have everything

Oh there's no one like Jesus
Who can heal broken hearts
And put them back together again

What shall I do
What step should I take
What move should I make
Oh, Lord What shall I do

I'm going to wait
I know you'll come through
